Spellbound Dobermans

Born out of a love for Dobermans

About Me

I’ve been around dogs for most of my life. I’m a retired groomer and pet-store owner, and over the years I’ve spent a lot of time learning about dogs, nutrition, training, and what makes them tick.

I fell in love with Dobermans because they are such an incredible combination of intelligent, beautiful, loyal, athletic, protective, and are very entertaining. They are classic velcro dogs and want to be involved in whatever you’re doing. They’re also known for being a bit of a jester, and that goofy side is one of the things I love most about them.

Outside of dogs, I enjoy creating art, music, and riding motorcycles. But honestly, a lot of my time revolves around my dogs. I love training and trying different things with them, including dock diving, scent work, barn hunt, obedience, rally & more. I like having dogs that can do things and enjoy having a job.

Why I Breed

I breed selectively and primarily to add to my own breeding program. My goal is to produce the healthiest Dobermans I can while continuing to learn and improve along the way.

Health is a huge part of that. I use DNA testing, bloodwork, and appropriate health testing for the breed, including Holters and echocardiograms when evaluating dogs for my program. I look at the whole dog—not just one test, one title, or one trait.

I also want to produce Dobermans that are healthy, athletic, intelligent, confident, and able to enjoy an active life with their families.

Meet Potion

CH. Aludra’N Spellbound Potion of Nepheline FDC BCAT WAC

Potion is a very special girl and an important part of where Spellbound is today.

She’s alert, confident, protective, funny, strong, and driven. She’s watchful when she needs to be, playful when she wants to be, and absolutely loves the water.

Potion has the athleticism and drive that I enjoy in a Doberman, but she also has plenty of personality. She’s a dog that wants to be involved in whatever is going on—and if there’s water nearby, she’s probably going to find it.

Potion earned her Working Apptitude Test with flying colors and finished her Championship completely by me, owner/breeder handled.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for her and for Spellbound.
